Rehab after heart surgery adds years to your life

Rehabilitation is the topic of Heart Week this year (1st to 7th May 2016).

I’ll be writing about my experience with it.

If more people took up rehab after a heart attack or heart surgery, the health system would save money and more heart attacks would be prevented, according to research by the Heart Foundation (Australia).

Better still, be active and live well to prevent the heart attack in the first place!

  1. Once again, the concept of PREVENTION. Since people will not generally concern themselves with this concept, I have an idea. How about we substitute a car breathalyzer with a recorder that mandates you verbalize your daily PREVENTION strategies before it will start? 😀 It might not work, but it would require everyone to think about prevention none the less.
